// WHAT IT IS

Adhesive vinyl:
what it is and
why we use it

Adhesive vinyl (calendered PVC) is a thin, flexible plastic film with a permanent adhesive layer on its back. It is the industry standard for signage, lettering and custom stickers for several reasons:

UV

UV RESISTANCE

Does not fade with prolonged sun exposure. No yellowing or colour loss when used outdoors.

H2O

WATERPROOF

Withstands rain, snow, humidity and pressure washing without peeling or deteriorating.

360

FLEXIBILITY

Adapts to curved surfaces without wrinkles or breaks. Perfect for laptops, helmets and bottles.

8Y

PERMANENT ADHESION

Sticks to metal, glass, smooth plastic and more. Holds for years with no lifted edges.

CUT

PRECISION CUT

Allows complex die-cutting with precision plotters. Clean edges, no burrs.

// WHY IT LASTS SO LONG
SUN

The vinyl has UV ray protection. That means you can leave it in the July sun in southern Spain and it won't turn yellow or lose colour. Tested from -20 to +60 degrees.

WATER

Rain, puddles, pressure washing at the car wash. Water does nothing to it. If you stick it on your car, you can wash it with complete peace of mind.

TIME

Real durability of up to 6 years outdoors. Indoors (laptop, wall, fridge) practically indefinite. This isn't marketing: it's the actual lifespan of the material.

// WHAT EXACTLY IS IT

It's not paper, it's not just any plastic

Imagine a thin, flexible sheet, similar to the feel of a credit card but much thinner. That's vinyl. A material that sticks to almost any smooth surface and, once applied, looks like it's painted on.

Unlike typical paper stickers (the kind that turn white in the rain and peel off in the sun), cut vinyl is a layer of solid colour. There's no ink on top: the colour IS the material. That's why it doesn't fade, doesn't scratch easily and lasts for years.

At Pegame we use professional cut vinyl. Each design is cut with a precision plotter (a machine that cuts following the exact contour of the design), hand-weeded to remove excess material and prepared so you can stick it on easily yourself.

// CUT VINYL VS PRINTED STICKER
REGULAR PRINTED STICKER

• Ink printed on paper or thin plastic

• Fades in the sun within weeks

• Water wrinkles and peels it

• Has a white or transparent background

• Lasts months, not years

PEGAME CUT VINYL

• The colour is the material, no ink involved

• UV protection: doesn't lose colour

• Resistant to water, pressure washing

• No background: just your design, clean

• Up to 6 years outdoors

// WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

No background, no white edges

When you apply cut vinyl, you don't get a rectangle with the design inside. You get just the design. No white background, no transparent border, no frame. As if it were painted directly onto the surface.

Also, the vinyl has a slight relief you can feel when running your finger over it. It's subtle, but it gives a premium finish that printed stickers can't match. It's the difference between something stuck on and something integrated.

The colours are solid with a gloss finish, with that hint of reflection that gives it a professional, eye-catching look. What you see in the photo is what you get: no colour surprises.

// FAQ

What people
always ask

Can I remove a sticker without damaging the surface?

Yes. Apply heat with a hair dryer for 30 seconds and peel slowly. The adhesive softens and comes off cleanly. On cars and glass it leaves no residue.

Can I apply vinyl on rough surfaces?

No, it doesn't stick on rough surfaces. Our cut vinyl only works on smooth, clean surfaces: on rough textures like brick, untreated wood or concrete it won't stick.

Does it withstand car washing?

Yes. Our vinyl withstands tunnel wash, pressure washing and conventional cleaning products. Avoid scraping directly on the sticker with hard brushes.

How long does it take to fully adhere?

Maximum adhesion is reached in 48-72 hours. During that period, avoid wetting the area or subjecting it to mechanical stress. After that time, the bond is permanent.

Can I stick it on curved surfaces?

Yes, but only on gentle curves (helmet, bottle, motorbike tank): the vinyl is flexible and adapts without issue. On more pronounced curves you can apply heat with a hairdryer to help it mould, although it takes a bit of skill — with patience and care, the result is perfect.

What if I make a mistake when applying it?

During the first few seconds you can peel it off and reposition without any problem. Once you press firmly, the adhesive fully activates. We recommend taking your time.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?

The vinyl handles water and soap without a problem, but the extreme heat of a dishwasher can weaken the adhesive over time. For bottles and mugs, hand washing is best.

Is it the same as wall vinyl?

Not exactly. Wall vinyls are usually thinner and less resistant because they are designed for indoors. Our vinyl is outdoor grade: thicker, better adhesive and prepared for the harshest conditions.

Can I stick over another sticker?

Not recommended. Always remove the previous sticker and clean the surface before applying a new one. Sticking over another sticker reduces adhesion and may create bubbles.

NOW YOU KNOW EVERYTHING

You know the material, the resistance and the differences. All that's left is to choose your design.
